May is Mental Health Awareness Month

As you pass by Elwin Elementary, you may notice bright, lime green ribbons on the fence. These lime green ribbons are displayed in order to bring attention to the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. Every day, millions of people face stigma related to mental health because they or their loved ones are facing a challenge. Our goal is to put an end to this stigma, and create a community where everyone feels comfortable reaching out for the support they need.

Here at Elwin, we are doing our part to raise awareness.
We have decorated our campus with lime green ribbons, and teachers can be seen wearing stickers with different messages of support.
Staff and students have been gifted with bookmarks that give tips on how to talk about feelings and how to practice self-care. Bookmarks with stress management tips are available for parents in the office. Posters can be seen throughout campus with the message "Each Mind Matters".

We encourage you to take the time to think about mental health and stress, and to start a conversation about these topics.
Please remember that we are here to support our families, and do no hesitate to reach out if you ever need help our encouragement.
